During times of disaster, Hand in Hand partners provided food and hope to people who have suffered great losses.
The Hand in Hand Hurricane Relief Fund made grants to organizations like Disaster Relief, Feeding America, Greater Houston Community Foundation, Angel by Nature, United Way, Minnie’s Food Pantry, and more that delivered immediate aid for food, water, and supplies to those in need.
It is not uncommon to hear stories like that of Rosalba and her family, who found themselves in unimaginable adversity living in a truck for 9 months after Hurricane Harvey. But, thanks to donors including those from Hand in Hand, families like Rosalba’s were able to get by and find hope at their local food pantries in Texas, Florida, and Puerto Rico supported by Feeding America.
In addition to Feeding America’s year-round work to support food insecure Americans, during times of disaster, the Feeding America network provides food and hope to people who have suffered great losses. Feeding America deploys logistical solutions within hours after a disaster strikes to deliver food, water, and supplies to struggling families.
