Children in Crisis: Mental Health Impacts on Vulnerable Youth During COVID-19

COVID-19 has exacerbated children’s mental health challenges across the US. Better care, deeper investment and coordinated action is more critical than ever. Young people, at the epicenter of this crisis, need to be heard. Childhood USA and Comic Relief US collaborated to host a critical, timely conversation on this issue.

According to the CDC, emergency room visits related to children's mental health rose dramatically for school-aged children and adolescents from March - October 2020, compared to the previous year. Social isolation, anxiety around illness, grief and disruptions to school are exacting a major toll on children’s mental health. This webinar convened experts in the field, including frontline service providers and young activists, who are spreading awareness, expanding access to care, improving resilience and driving action to address this crisis.
