Learn MoreHave you scrolled through social media lately, only to see your feed full of friends, celebs, and attractive strangers rocking a mysterious Red Nose? Ever wondered What is Red Nose Day?
Or maybe you’ve passed by a Walgreens or Duane Reade and spotted noses, bracelets, pens, and all sorts of Red Nose Day swag. And you’ve asked yourself, “Self, what’s that about?”
Don’t be embarrassed to ask what’s up. We’re here to help.
Red Nose Day is about coming together to end child poverty, one nose at a time. When you buy a Red Nose, your money supports programs that keep children safe, healthy and educated – both here in the United States and around the world.
And not to toot our own nose, but we’ve actually accomplished quite a bit since our start in 2015.
In fact, we’ve raised nearly $150 million dollars in only three years, which is money that has saved and changed the lives of over 16 million children in America and in some of the poorest countries around the world.
Hopefully you’re as excited as we are to make a difference for children who need our help the most.
Totally on board. Then what?
As the big day approaches, people all across America will buy Red Noses at Walgreens and fundraise to raise awareness and funds to help children in need.
And what happens on RED NOSE DAY? (You might ask.)
Our favorite question!
On May 23 (that’s when Red Nose Day is; you didn’t ask that but we told you anyway), we'll come together to wear our Red Noses and watch a special night of primetime programming celebrating Red Nose Day on NBC.
Okay! So you can get behind that. But maybe you’re still unclear about some things. Like…
What’s with the Red Nose?
The Red Nose has always been the symbol of, you guessed it, Red Nose Day! It catches your attention (proof: you’ve read this far) and makes others smile. And we think laughter is the best way to bring people together to make a difference. Agree?
As you can see, we’ve made huge strides but there’s always more work to be done. Which leads us to answer your presumed next question:
“How can I get involved?”
We thought you’d never ask. There are so many ways, big and small, that you can join us in our mission and help end child poverty.
First things first: buy a Red Nose! They only cost two dollars and they do so much good. You can buy them at Walgreens or Duane Reade stores nationwide.
Now that you’ve got your Red Nose on, it’s time to start a fundraiser. Whether at your school, at the office, or in your neighborhood, a fundraiser brings your friends and family together for a great cause.
Okay, okay, we get it. Maybe you’re not ready to commit 100% right away. In that case, you can donate to an existing fundraiser and support those acing the fundraising game.
And last but not least, you can watch TV (which, let’s be honest, you’re probably going to be doing anyway). Tune in to NBC on May 23rd at 8/7c for an amazing three-hour block of programming celebrating Red Nose Day.
Watching with friends is even better!
The movement continues to grow with every fundraiser held, TV special aired, and Red Nose sold. Together we’re helping to end child poverty, one nose at at time.
First stop: Walgreens, to get your own Red Nose.
Now you’re in the NOSE!
(Yes, we love puns here at Red Nose Day. Just go with it.)
