Our Impact

When kids grow up in poverty, it can limit their potential and trap them in cycles of hardship that last generations. At Comic Relief US, we believe in addressing poverty’s impact and its root causes. We focus on children and young people because they are uniquely affected, and with the right support are more likely to escape poverty as adults, and break these cycles for future generations.

Our Fundraising Approach

Humor and poverty may seem worlds apart, but laughter connects people, builds community, and inspires action. Through entertainment, engaging content, and digital campaigns, we connect, inform, and raise awareness, driving fundraising that empowers our partners to open pathways to social and economic mobility for children and young people facing poverty.

Our Grantmaking Approach

We focus on the four interconnected areas of health, safety education, and empowerment to address the most acute needs of children and young people impacted by poverty and injustice, while building resilience for their families and communities.

Whether supporting LGBTQ+ youth facing stigma or homelessness, delivering life-saving healthcare for families in need, or supporting leadership development in underserved communities, our partners truly reflect the breadth and depth of our mission.

Raising Healthy Children

Quality medical care is essential for children to grow up strong. We work to improve all aspects of healthcare – from pre- and postnatal care to nutrition and disease prevention.

Keeping Children Safe

No matter where they are in the world, children should live freely and safely. We help children find safe places to stay when disaster or violence threaten their homes.

Improving Education Access

We provide learning opportunities, including early childhood education, STEAM learning, vocational training and college prep, so children are prepared to thrive in adulthood.

Empowering Future Leaders

We teach children and young adults leadership and decision-making skills so they’re able to make the most of opportunities and realize their dreams.
