COMIC RELIEF US MAKES ‘COMMITMENT TO ACTION’ TO DELIVER $1B IN SOCIAL IMPACT OVER NEXT 10 YEARS
Nonprofit looks to scale as it announces new funds & action at the 2022 Clinton Global Initiative
NEW YORK, NY (September 19, 2022) – Today, Comic Relief US joined the Clinton Global Initiative to announce a commitment to deliver $1 billion in social impact over the next ten years to accelerate the organization’s efforts to break the cycle of intergenerational poverty.
Through new investments to Comic Relief US’ $10 million Innovation and Growth Fund, the nonprofit plans to scale its proven model of impact to bring awareness and funding to the world’s most pressing problems through new programs and funds.
WHAT: As part of the Clinton Global Initiative’s ‘Commitments to Action,’ Comic Relief US announced they will deliver $1 billion in social impact over the next ten years:
- Commitments to Action are new, specific, and measurable plans designed to address global challenges.
- New commitments to Comic Relief US’ $10 million Innovation & Growth Fund will build out and accelerate the organization's work toward breaking the cycle of intergenerational poverty.
- Comic Relief US intends to scale its core programs with increased investment in community-based, front-line organizations and will launch fundraising campaigns to mobilize new audiences and donors with a fresh perspective.
- The organization will achieve this goal in partnership with high-impact and grantee partners, brand and media partners, and long-standing funders like the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.
