Jacksepticeye Expands His Annual Thankmas Event Inviting Friends and Community Members to Get Involved and Raise Funds for Red Nose Day

From December 12-20, 2020, Creator-First Fundraising Platform Tiltify will Allow Any Creator on YouTube, Twitch, Facebook and, for the First-Time, TikTok to Help those Around the World Impacted by the Pandemic Red Nose Day will Match Funds Raised up to $1.5 Million

LOS ANGELES, December 1, 2020 – One of the world’s most popular YouTube creators and gaming commentators, Sean “Jacksepticeye” McLoughlin will tap his friends and community of 25M subscribers for good this holiday season during his annual Thankmas fundraising event on Tiltify. All proceeds for this year’s event will support Red Nose Day, a campaign to end child poverty built on the foundation that the power of entertainment can drive positive change.

Beginning December 12 through December 20, anyone who streams on YouTube, Twitch, Facebook and for the first time, TikTok, can be part of Thanksmas. Those participating will be raising money to help people in the US and around the world impacted by the devastating ripple effects of the COVID pandemic, especially the worsening hunger crisis. This year’s community-driven event allows anyone the ability to get involved — whether it is creating their own fundraiser, donating to others or by helping spread the word by using the hashtag #Thankmas2020. To spur the fundraising efforts, Red Nose Day has committed to matching up to $1.5M raised.

Jacksepticeye will kick off Thankmas with his own stream on December 13. He aims to beat his personal fundraising record of $660K for the recent campaign #HopeFromHome, a first-of-its-kind multi-platform digital fundraising event that took place on World Health Day, in April, to help fight the initial impacts of the COVID-19 outbreak. Thankmas continues his mission to bring the community together to provide both help and hope. Money raised will support the most vulnerable children and families with programs that address urgent needs and foster long-term change.

“Heading into the holidays, during one of the toughest years, I wanted to expand my annual Thankmas event, so everyone could get involved in support of Red Nose Day. This organization allows us to give back to kids and families around the world who have been devastatingly impacted by COVID,” said Sean McLoughlin. “Working with Tiltify makes it possible for us to bring together the global community to spread awareness and make the biggest impact possible for those in need. I look forward to having my friends and fans get involved!”

"Tragically, the longer the pandemic has lasted, the deeper the impact has grown in the most vulnerable communities, with children often the most affected. And the figures are hard to grasp: in the US alone, an estimated 1 in 4 children, that’s around 18 million, have faced hunger in 2020, and globally the numbers have nearly doubled," said Alison Moore, CEO, Comic Relief US, the nonprofit behind Red Nose Day. "With the continued support for Red Nose Day from Jacksepticeye and his community, Thankmas will be an incredibly powerful way to engage millions of people across multiple platforms, and Tiltify is making it easy to harness the power of their donations to deliver enormous frontline impact."

The weeklong charity event is supported by creator-first fundraising platform, Tiltify. Responsible for powering today’s most popular social media platforms and live streaming services like TikTok, Twitch, YouTube and more, Tiltify works with new and existing partners to create more interactive, live and personalized experiences for creators to do good.

“Jacksepticeye is not only one of the most popular creators in the world, but also the most generous. We are so glad to be able to continue our relationship with him and expand his annual event to multiple platforms this year, including TikTok,” said Michael Wasserman, co-founder and CEO of Tiltify. “Red Nose Day has been a longstanding partner and perfect for this specific campaign as their mission to leverage entertainment to do good, aligns with all parties involved. We look forward to this year’s Thankmas and further serve the next generation of socially-conscious consumers through immersive and entertaining experiences.”

With the support of Jacksepticye and organizations like Red Nose Day, the Tiltify community activated more than ever this year, raising awareness and driving donations significantly for incredibly important initiatives — from COVID-19 and disaster-relief to organizations focused on equal rights, diversity and inclusion in addition to mental health. With Thankmas, Tiltify continues its mission to go beyond traditional fundraising, serving the next generation of socially-conscious consumers.
