Learn MoreWatching the destruction of a beautiful nation like Ukraine is a heartbreaking reminder of the devastating effects of war.
Over the past two months, we’ve seen families forced to flee their homes while children take refuge in underground subway stations to escape the violence. Their daily existence is a constant struggle for safety and shelter.
We’re witnessing the inconceivable – and I am calling on all of us to take action.
From afar, it’s easy to feel powerless. All too often, war and conflict fade into the background as our collective attention focuses on other matters – we’ve seen it happen in Syria, Myanmar, Afghanistan, and countless places across the globe. But the grim reality is, the ramifications are felt long after the bombing ceases. Conflict fragments communities, exacerbates poverty and inequality, and puts those affected at risk for abuse and exploitation.
So what can we do? How do we make a difference?
Now more than ever, we must unite together in a shared purpose – one focused on rebuilding lives, welcoming refugees into our communities, and creating more resilient futures.
At Comic Relief US, we are working to ensure those affected by the war in Ukraine are cared for in both the immediate aftermath and for the long-term. Red Nose Day partners on the frontlines are deploying vital humanitarian aid including temporary housing, food and essential supplies, translation services, and security for those impacted. We are also continuing to support children and families impacted by conflict around the world, as the ripple effects will be felt for years to come.
During this crisis, we are in urgent need of your help. When you donate to Red Nose Day, your gift will support efforts in Ukraine as well as help children facing unimaginable struggles at home and abroad.
We must come together as one global community to shape a safer, more equitable future for all.
